Where is the retreat?

The retreat will be at Molino Monacelli, a lovely country house in the beautiful Marche region of Italy, known for sandy beaches, pebbled coves, limestone cliffs, and rolling green hills with towns perched on their side.

Rated 9.6 out of 10 stars, Molino Monacelli is located just outside Fano.

Molino Monacelli is just 1 mile from the Adriatic Sea, 30 miles from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Urbino, 3 hours from Florence, Milan, Rome, and Venice, and in the center of the Italian countryside. It is the perfect peaceful setting to explore Italian beaches, art, history, and food and as well as dive within.

What’s the weather like?

The average temperature for September in Fano is between 68° F/20° C and 77° F/25° C, mostly sunny with the occasional rain shower.

September is one of the best times to visit Italy, as it’s not too hot and a lot less crowded by other tourists.

Do I need a visa to travel to Italy?

Please check this website for visa requirements for your country of citizenship.

It is also advisable to double-check with the Italian consulate or embassy in your country to make sure the information you find online is up to date.

How do I get to Molino Monacelli?

Your retreat investment includes transportation from Ancona to Molino Monacelli on September 5 and the return on September 12. Details will be emailed to you when you register.

In the event that you’d like to arrive earlier or stay after the retreat has ended, please contact ilaria@molinomonacelli.it to make your arrangements for accommodation and transportation from Fano.

How long is the drive from Ancona to Molino Monacelli?

Ancona is roughly one hour away from Molino Monacelli.

What time does the retreat start/end?

Everyone will start arriving around 4 pm on September 5 and have some time to settle in. Our first evening, we will have dinner and start getting to know each other.

We will end on Saturday September 12th at noon.

Please make sure to leave enough time for transportation and airport check in and security when you make your travel plans.

Do I need to bring an adapter?

Electricity in Italy, as in the rest of Europe, comes out of the wall socket at 220 volts alternating at a 50 cycles per second. In the US, electricity comes out of the wall socket at 110 volts, alternating at 60 cycles per second. Not only the voltages and frequencies, but the sockets themselves are different.

Please read this article and inform yourself so you can protect your electronics and bring the necessary accessories.

What kind of food will we eat?

The menu will be delicious home-cooked meals by Molino Monacelli’s hostess, Ilaria Nucera. It will be mostly vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions [despite what you may think, Italy has plenty of gluten-free options!].

Is there internet available in the house?

Yes, there is wifi in all the bedrooms.

Are there phones available for guests to make phone calls?

If you need to make calls, you can check with your cell phone provider about adding a temporary international calling card/chip, or you can use Internet cafes…or just unplug from all the stuff back home and sink into relaxation.

Do the rooms have air conditioning?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with air conditioners.

Will there be laundry service?

A laundry machine is available for your use for 5€ per wash (includes laundry detergent).

Will there be massage services available?

In-house massage treatments can be booked for 50€ for a 60min Shiatsu or Swedish/Deep Tissue massage.

Where can I exchange currencies?

There are banks in Fano where you can exchange money. Credit cards are accepted in most places, though it’s advisable to use cash for smaller purchases or at the green market.

Is there a safe for my valuables?

Yes, a safe is available.
